    Cristiano Ronaldo retirement prediction

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand predicted former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo will play for at least another three years until he’s 42 years old.

I can’t give too much away, but I’ve been doing a few bits with Cristiano behind the scenes and he’s playing as long as he wants.

He ain’t going nowhere. And I was gobsmacked.

And listen, you’ll see it in time, but minimum three years I think he plays for again.

    Sharpe on Fernandes extension

Manchester United hero Lee Sharpe insists tying down Bruno Fernandes to a new contract is “massive” for the club as he’s finally starting to show his true potential as a player and leader.

Sharpe told Highest Payout Online Casino:

I think securing Bruno Fernandes to another contract has been massively important for Manchester United this summer.

I have criticised him in the past for giving the ball away cheaply in poor areas but that seems to be fizzling out of his game and he’s starting to really show his true potential. He’s played really well and has worked hard and he’s making the team thrive – it’s a big thing tying him down to a new contract.

As far as captains go I think he leads by example, covering every blade of grass on the pitch. That is sometimes to the detriment of the rest of the team though because he can try a bit too hard and gets himself out of position.

But I don’t think there’s any questions surrounding his creativity and what he brings to the team. His goalscoring ability, his work ethic and love for the club are all positive attributes and I don’t think there’s a better captain in that team.

    Ten Hag's replacement

Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen claims Ruud van Nistelrooy is clearly waiting in the wings if manager Erik ten Hag has a stuttering start.

    Meulensteen told Gambling Zone:

I don’t think Erik ten Hag will be worried about Rudd van Nistelrooy potentially replacing him, he’s too focused on the job at hand.

But who knows what the future will bring, if United stutter at the start of the season and the results don’t go their way, Sir Jim Ratcliffe would consider Van Nistelrooy, but at the moment they believe that Erik is the right man and now we need to see what happens.

It is an interesting development, what has happened at Manchester United because Ten Hag brought in his trusted staff and many of them have gone.

Now he has brought in his friend Rene Hake, who was manager of Utrecht, as well as Van Nistelrooy, so he has identified what he needs.

    Erik ten Hag sack prediction

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke predicted that manager Erik ten Hag would be sacked if he lost three or four games early in the season.

    Yorke told CSGOLuck:

If Erik ten Hag loses three or four games early in the season, he will be under serious pressure, especially if the other big teams all pull away to leave Manchester United sitting in mid-table.

Fulham are up first and not winning that game would set alarm bells ringing already. United are probably going to lose to the top teams but they have to be beating teams like Fulham if they are to improve under Ten Hag and get into the top four.

The biggest issue for Ten Hag, which could end up costing him his job, is losing to the teams that aren’t Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham. If they lose to Fulham, Brighton and Southampton, which is after Liverpool, Ten Hag will have a serious problem.

There is no way of trying to butter it up and be nice about it. Beat the teams around you and things will be fine, if you lose those then that’s what will cost Ten Hag his job.

    Michael Owen's Antony warning

Michael Owen insists it would be "dangerous" to write off Antony this coming season.

    Owen told OLBG:

Amad Diallo has been the buzzword of preseason for Manchester United after making some headlines last year, I think he’s going to play a prominent role this season.

The signing of Antony hasn't gone that well and as much as it looks like he isn’t the answer for United, that’s happened to that many players over the last dozen or so seasons.

Great players have come in and it hasn’t worked for them, look at Jadon Sancho who was playing so well in the seasons leading up to the transfer.

It's just a hard place to go. Even the great Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't been able to reignite Manchester United when he went back. I could go talk about dozens of great players that have arrived at United in the last 10 or 15 years that have looked average.

Sometimes then they even go on to somewhere else and pick it up again and start doing well. I think it's quite dangerous writing players like Antony off, even though your eyes are telling you that he doesn't seem to have the pace required and seems to lack a little bit of confidence.

But Antony now has a youngster snapping at his heels and it might be a tough season for him, but if Erik ten Hag can get a tune out of the team, players might start surprising you.

Erik ten Hag defended his role in Manchester United's recruitment policy, saying he has not asked the club to specifically target players he has worked with in the past.

"It is always backed or even brought up through the scouting, recruitment, technical director, sporting director.

"It is a decision made by more than just one. But, some, you know also players and personalities and it has to fit also in the finance."

    Ten Hag shares big warning

Erik ten Hag says his team is not ready for the start of the new campaign after a busy pre-season.

The Manchester United manager has had to juggle late arrivals from major tournaments with new arrivals from other clubs.

Ten Hag said: “It’s true, it’s not the pre-season where in 5-6 weeks work on a team, it’s very complicated.

“We had the USA tour squad and then we added the players from the Euros and Copa America and now new signings and we have to make a team from it.

“That team is not ready but the league starts and more managers have this problem.

“Still, we have some room, have some principles and we have to make a start. We can’t hide, we have to deal with it.”

    Man Utd agree sponsorship deal

Premier League giants Man United have reached an agreement with American tech company Qualcomm worth £300m to continue as the Red Devils’ shirt sponsorship for the next five years.

The Manchester club will see Snapdragon on the front of their shirts for the first time this season after taking over from TeamViewer, who appeared on the jerseys of the Premier League club for the previous three campaigns.

The Germany-based software firm announced in 2022 that it did not intend to renew its deal with Man United, which was supposed to be a five-year agreement worth £47m beginning in 2021.

According to The Independent, Man United have already agreed an extension with Qualcomm to have Snapdragon on the front of their shirts until 2029 after the American tech company and the FA Cup winners triggered an extension to their agreement.

    Stam sends Ten Hag warning

Man Utd legend Jaap Stam insists Erik ten Hag should "look at himself" and leave Old Trafford.

Ten Hag endured a difficult 2023-24 campaign with the Red Devils and came close to losing his job.

Speaking to Simon Jordan on hisWilliam Hillpodcast, Stam said: "For Ten Hag, it's his third season at United – I think he needs to go.

"I think it's good he signed a new contract because he still needs that little bit of help.

"He needs to look at himself and how last season panned out, I don't always agree with him in terms of him saying they played good football.

"I understand that as a manager you need to be positive about your players and help them out by taking some of the pressure away.

"That said, it's also good to just be honest as a manager and say that your team played rubbish football.

"He needs to step up this season, there have been a lot of changes made at the club with the staff so I'm curious how it's going to work out for them."

    Man Utd business not over

Manchester United could bring in another signing this summer, according to David Ornstein.

He said on Sky Sports News: “I think so. Midfield is clearly an area of concern and where they want to invest in central midfield. Do they need extra cover at full-back still?

“Probably not now that Mazraoui comes in, and interestingly, it's been given the number three shirt, so maybe he will play it left-back.

“And then perhaps, before the window shuts, maybe something more in attack, they're constantly being linked. It's a really fascinating summer at Old Trafford.”
